Anytime you have approved orders for government paid travel, you must use SATO Travel to book your airline flight.  There number is 800-753-7286, press option #4 to make your reservations.

1. Contact SATO using the number above, press option #4.

2. Identify yourself as a Coast Guard Auxiliary member that will be traveling on official government orders to the travel agent. They will setup a temporary profile to book your flight.

3. Provide them with the date/time and locations where you need to fly.  They will then book your flight in a way that will most closely fit your request and quote you a price.

4. If you decide to have them book the itinerary they provide you, then a record locator number will be generated by their system and provided to you. The ticket will be an e-ticket.

5. After your flight is booked, you will need to contact our office and speak with YN1 Burroughs or Ms. Parlee Harper and let them know that you need your travel order faxed to SATO – pls provide them with your record locator number for reference on the fax.

That is the process. I would suggest though that a day or so after the orders have been faxed to SATO, you contact them again and verify the e-ticket has indeed been purchased.  Sometimes orders can get misplaced and without them the flight e-ticket will not be purchased and you might show up and have no ticket when you check in at the airport.  So call and make sure before you leave for the airport.

No need to provide airplane ticket receipts with our travel claim either, since your tickets are purchased directly off the orders.

If you have any questions regarding your trip, please contact our office, 504-671-2144.
