AIRS- AUXILIARY INTERNET RESOURCES SITE

VIRUS ALERT!--  Computers belonging to several members of the Coastal Region have recently infected with computer viruses.  These computers have been sending virus infected e-mail to other Auxiliarists and to active duty Coast Guard members and units.  This has the potential to severely disrupt electronic communications and destroy  electronic data within our organization.  Because of this threat, all members are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to install anti-virus software on  their computers immediately --  if they have not done so already . It is critical that these programs are updated on a routine basis (daily is ideal) to provide protection from the newest viruses.  Two proven anti-virus programs that have been utilized within the Coastal Region are Norton Anti-virus and McAfee Anti-virus.  You can purchase either of these programs at local computer or office supply stores or on-line.  Additional information can be found at  http://www.mcafee.com or http://www.norton.com.  Your prompt action regarding this important matter is very much appreciated.
