he goal of the Prevention Directorate is to reduce the number of boating fatalities before they happen. The members of the team are dedicated to serving in this capacity and work in their particular areas to accomplish this goal. Public Education, Vessel Examinations, and RBS Program Visits work diligently to inform the boating public through public education classes, vessel safety checks and providing information for distribution through Marine Dealers.

Navigation Systems works to keep charts updated and provides support for the Coast Guard to assure that Private Aids to Navigation are properly working. Member Training continues to provide educational opportunities to Auxiliarists so they can spread this expertise to the Recreational Boating Public. Marine Safety focuses on keeping the waters clean and environmentally friendly through education and inspections. All team members are committed to preventing boating mishaps before they happen.
