Public Education
Navegando America is now available from Shop Auxiliary. It is for those students who are taking America’s Boating Course and are more comfortable reading the Spanish version rather than the English material. The item number in Shop Auxiliary is #10065, and it is found on page two of the Public Education courses materials. The cost is $25. It is not 100% identical to the ABC material, but it is very similar. It is suggested that the course be taught in English and provide the Spanish text to the students who prefer it. For more information see PE Speed Gram October 2005 on the National Web site.
Waterway Watch - The Education Department is honored to launch the first public outreach to all boaters as part of the Maritime Domain Awareness and Homeland Security. Please include in EVERY adult education class the Waterway Watch PowerPoint presentation. This is now available for download from the PE Media Library. Also available is the set of Instructor Notes.
The new, streamlined version of On Water Training Manual is now available on the National Education web page. The Manual reduces paper work and is designed to be more user friendly. It affords each Flotilla to select tasks that are appropriate for the class and for local waters. Click here to download your new Manual.
PE Course Completion - Reporting properly the
completion of a Public Education class has been simplified. At the end of
the class, fill out the 7030 Mission Activity Report located on the National
Web Page. Go to the Members' Deck. Click the "Forms" button
located at the top of the page. Open the 7030 Mission Activity form.
Fill in the information for the course given. On the right side of the page,
click on the Orange button labeled "Click to Report END of PE Course.
Fill in the dropdown areas. Print the form. This assures credit for the hard
work invested in presenting the course.
Public BCN/ACN Exam Revised - The examination for use in the Public Education delivery of AuxACN has been thoroughly revised. It is at the printer now and will soon be delivered with course materials ordered from AUXCEN. In the interim if you are administering the exam, contact DSO-PE, and the examination materials will be electronically delivered. This material may be reproduced.
